The Service will contact the student’s family and arrange for a member of the training team to visit the student in the appropriate setting, enabling them to make the best possible start.
Provision of any necessary computer equipment will take place during the induction visit in which the student, and their parent/carer, will be shown how to access the online features and during which internet safety will be addressed.
After the visit, student log-in details will be shared with the school in order that regular checks on progress can be made by the ‘key-worker’ or mentor.
Progress can be checked at any time for the referring school or agency, and support for the student requested if engagement becomes an issue.
At the end of each half term teachers write reports on student progress and these are made accessible to the school and shared with the student and parents/carers.
Where students have worked well, this is celebrated by the issuing of termly merit certificates.
